Description
A concave lens, also known as a diverging lens, is a type of optical lens that is thicker at the edges than at the centre. This causes parallel incoming light rays to diverge, or spread apart, as they pass through the lens.
As a result, concave lenses are used to correct specific vision problems, such as myopia (nearsightedness), by helping to bring distant objects into focus on the retina by diverging the incoming light rays before they reach the eye's lens.
Additionally, concave lenses are often used in science and optics to study light and its properties, as well as in the development of telescopes and other optical instruments.
